David Lakirovich

David Lakirovich

Twenty year old David Lakirovich was born in Brisbane, Australia, and started his violin studies at the age of three with his father, Jacob Lakirovich. At the age of five he had already performed in his first concert. In 1997, the family moved to Toronto, Canada. David has taken part in various master classes and lessons with renowned musicians such as Felix Andrievsky, Nelly Shkolnikova, Dorothy DeLay, Jose-Louis Garcia, Victor Tretyakov, Arkadij Winokurow, Boris Kuschnir, Ronald Copes, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Michael Frischenschlager and David Zafer.

David has performed in many recitals and concerts in Australia, USA, Canada and Europe, including solo performances with the Downsview Symphony and JVL SSPA Festival Orchestras, as well as performances at the “Young Stars of the Young Century” in the George Weston Recital Hall concert for The Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation and a solo performance with the Toronto Youth Sinfonietta in the Toronto Centre for the Arts. David was the Top Prizewinner and Scholarship recipient from various competitions and festivals including Canadian Music Competition. In 2007, he won the first prize in the International Golden Hannukiah Music Competition in Berlin, Germany. He was also the top prizewinner in the International Chamber Music Festival Allegro Vivo in Horn, Austria in the same year. In 2008, he won the Grand Prix Laureate in the International Competition of Young Performers in Vienna. He is currently studying with Shmuel Ashkenasi at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.
