Application Deadlines and Fees
There are 2 deadlines to take note of:
- February 20, 2012 - First Round of Receiving Applications. For those who register by February 20, 2012, the registration fee of $ 200 is waived. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must also be registered by the above date.
- May 14, 2012 - Final Day of Receiving Applications.
Application Fee
The application fee of $ 200 is required of all participants and observers. It is non-refundable and not applicable toward other JVL SSPA fees.
The $ 200 fee is waived for those applications received by February 20, 2012.
Applications postmarked after February 20 will only be considered subject to availability.
Program Fees

| The fee includes tuition, accommodation and meals, transportation from and to Toronto, lectures, seminars, all classes and master classes, and all recreational activities. | |
| • The Observer Program fee: | $ 1,265 |
| (Parents, and other family members who are in residence with a student) The fee includes accommodation and meals, transportation from and to Toronto, admission to all concerts of the SSPA, attendance of master classes, rehearsals and lectures and all recreational activities. | |
| • Security Deposit: | $ 100 |
| The security deposit is required of all students, and is fully refundable subject to a satisfactory completion of the checkout procedure. Students will be charged an additional $ 75 for each unreturned residence key. | |
Payment Schedule and Options
A) Payments by Cheques:
Option I: The Program fee of $ 1,990 paid in two equal installments:
- $ 995.00 Cheque dated March 15, 2012
- $ 995.00 Cheque dated May 17, 2012
Option II: The Program fee of $ 1,990 paid in six equal installments:
- $ 331.67 Cheque dated February 20, 2012
- $ 331.67 Cheque dated March 15, 2012
- $ 331.67 Cheque dated April 15, 2012
- $ 331.67 Cheque dated May 15, 2012
- $ 331.66 Cheque dated June 15, 2012
- $ 331.66 Cheque dated July 5, 2012
Fill out and sign the Application Form and the Terms and Conditions / Waiver / Medical Form.
Mail the forms and deposit cheques together with the application fee cheque of $ 200 (waived before February 20, 2012), a security deposit cheque of $ 100 (dated July 15, 2012) to the address indicated in the Application Form.
B) Payment by Credit Card / PayPal
Credit Card payment is available with Online Application
Option I: The total amount paid in full (one installment, no service charge)
Option II: Six equal monthly installments (3.5% service charge applies) charged to the credit card automatically once a month for six months - available until February 2nd, 2012.
All fees are payable in Canadian funds. Foreign students should obtain an International Money Order in Canadian dollars for the payment of fees. All cheques should be payable to the JVL Summer School for Performing Arts. Once a student has made a deposit or registered, fees (including registration and program) are non-refundable. An incomplete application or lack of payment of application fees will stop the application process.
Financial Assistance/Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships, in amounts of up to $ 200, will be awarded to successful applicants, based on artistic merit and/or financial need. To be eligible, applicants must comply with all of the above deadlines and requirements. Detailed requests must be received in writing, along with the application form by February 20, 2012. Late applicants will not be considered for financial assistance.
Acceptance Procedure
Upon acceptance to the JVL SSPA, an official letter of acceptance will be sent to the student. Decisions regarding financial assistance will be made and students will be notified by April 2012. A final packet will be mailed 2-4 weeks prior to the Camp's commencement.
