Lee Joiner![]() Lee Joiner is on the faculty at Wheaton College Conservatory of Music where he serves as Associate Professor of violin and Chair of stringed instruments. He performs frequently on the Wheaton campus and has been associated with many performing groups in the Chicago area, including Ars Viva, The Contemporary Chamber Players, Fulcrum Point and the Lyric Opera. He has also performed as guest artist with the Rembrandt Chamber Players, and the Orion Chamber Ensemble. He serves on the faculty of Credo, a summer program for string chamber music. In past summers he has taught at the Masterworks Festival, Rocky Ridge Music Center, and Music on the Fly, an institute for the study of improvisation. Prior to joining the faculty at Wheaton College, Mr. Joiner was Artist-Teacher at the Blair School of Music, and a member of the Blair String Quartet. As a member of the quartet, he performed in many cities throughout the United States and was featured in broadcasts over National Public Radio. Mr. Joiner's musical studies include degrees from Juilliard, and Eastman with additional studies at the Aspen Music Festival, Yale Summer School, and the Banff Centre for the Arts. His primary teachers were Dorothy DeLay, Sylvia Rosenberg, and Harold Wippler. |
