Transportation

Transportation to and from North Bay is provided. Pick-up time and location will be mailed 2-4 weeks prior to the Camp's commencement.

Accommodation

Located directly on campus each bright, comfortable townhouse has six bedrooms, a four-piece and a two-piece washroom, a kitchen, which is equipped with a fridge and stove, the dining room, which is furnished with a table and six chairs. Two couches, a coffee table, two chairs and a lamp are also provided in order to make each living room comfortable and relaxing. Your own private bedroom comes furnished with a twin bed, desk, bookshelf, dresser and closet. Each townhouse has an Internet connection.

Students are placed in JVL SSPA housing on a first-come, first-served basis according to the order in which the enrollments forms are received. Room and roommate requests are fielded on a priority basis, but no guarantees can be made.

24 Hours Supervision

The curfew is in effect from 11.00 pm and all students MUST be in their rooms at this time. No visitors are allowed in rooms after 11.00 pm. Also, no overnight guests are allowed. Room-check is conducted nightly, and violations are reported immediately to the Director. The JVL SSPA reserves the right to expel any student for violations of JVL SSPA policy without refunding any fees paid.

Meals

All-you-can eat; buffet-style meals are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in a College cafeteria. The chefs at Aramak’s Classic Fare Catering take great pride in offering well-balanced meals, which include the favourites of most young people or selections for the more mature pallet. A vegetarian alternative is always available. For those who are still hungry there are Pizza Pizza and Mr. Sub outlets as well as Tim Horton's two on-campus locations to meet your coffee and baked goods needs.

There are also Vending Machines and an on-campus convenience store, which offers food and snack items.

Medical Services

The first aid kits supplies are available at the Residence Office. Comprehensive medical services are provided by a fully accredited North Bay General Hospital and by a number of Walk-In Clinics, and in case of emergency those facilities can be accessed in minutes.

Recreational Activities

Three to four hours daily are designated to recreational activities. The Education Centre Gymnasium is available for activities including basketball, broomball, volleyball, soccer, floor hockey, and badminton. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the Education Centre is located on 700 acres of natural woodland. Right outside your door you’ll find 12 km of trails for walking, hiking and cycling. There is a Ping-Pong table, television and movies in common area of the Residence office.

Age Requirements

Open to students of all ages. Parent or Guardian must accompany children under the age of 10.
