Tina Torlone

Tina Torlone holds an Associateship Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music (Gold Medal) and a Vocal Performance Degree from the University of Toronto. She studied Lieder, opera and oratorio in Vienna at the Konservatorium der Stadt Wien and at the Hochschule fur Musik. Additional studies include vocal pedagogy at Oberlin College with Richard Miller, voice in New York City with Dr. Michael Warren and Lieder with Hans Hotter at the Britten Pears School in Aldeburgh.

Ms. Torlone has performed as a soloist in opera, oratorio and concert. As a member of the trio "Divas Plus!", Ms. Torlone co-wrote and performed in a show introducing young people to opera and art song. Youth and Music Canada featured the show at their Cushion Concert Series in Toronto at Roy Thomson Hall.

From 1991 to 1997 Ms. Torlone was a member of the Voice Faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Presently she runs ProVoce Studios in Toronto. ProVoce Studios offers private lessons, workshops, classes and performance opportunities for singers of all ages and levels. Many alumni of the studio have been accepted in performance degree programs and music theatre programs and others are singing professionally and/or teaching in Canada, the United States and Europe.

As a clinician, Ms. Torlone has conducted workshops across the country in vocal technique and repertoire for church, school and community choirs. She is a member of the College of Examiners of the Royal Conservatory and is a lecturer and trainer for new examiners.
